A diverse group of students from 8 Thurston County High School schoolspartnered with Music Mentors Academies to record an original music CD inDecember 2008 in preparation for their work as musical peer educators intheir community and schools. The music team has evolved into the WashingtonState Music Mentors. These students examined personal challenges they faceat home, in their community and at school. Their prevention poetry andsongs are devoted to: Cultural awareness, Student leadership, Staying inschool, Breaking the cycle of Violence and Alcohol, Tobacco and Drugprevention.
